MY LIFE; not a subject I choose to speak of often..However, this is a venue lending appropriate time and space to the topic ..๐ ๐ข๐ท๐ช๐น๐ผ๐ฑ๐ธ๐ฝ ๐ธ๐ฏ ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ฎ โฆ tracing the paths journeyed over many years can be both inspiring and intimidating.
Time spent looking back can be a โjumping offโ point for some
needed change. This review has been a therapeutic but enjoyable exercise for me. I trust you too will find it of some interest and maybe even a little inspirational!!
Enjoy A Snapshot of My Life
Recently my family held a birthday celebration for me. I thought that by this time in life birthdays should not be a big deal. However marking 7 decades of life does have some merit and even deserves some celebration!
Yes, when I think about itโฆ.could it really be 70 yearsโฆ70 is such a big number!! But as I considered what all this means I realized it was not a negative thingโฆ.I had so much to be thankful for.Weโre Talking About MY Life
I entered the world on February 29, 1948, a leap year,ย But 2018 is not a leap year. So March was chosen for the celebration. ย It has been a point of humour once people discover the February 29 date.ย There is always a discussion as to when my birthday is celebrated, the last day of February or the first day of March.ย No question about itโฆ.the last day of February of course.ย
My grandchildren get joy from examining how I could be so close to them in age! My oldest granddaughter took pleasure in the fact that we could celebrate our 17th birthday together!
Early Years
I grew up in a Bible believing home where my parents both loved the Lord and lived Him before me and my two siblings. They faithfully took us to a local church where they had attended as young adults. This was where I learned to grow in faith and understanding of what it is to truly live the Christian life.
There were many opportunities to use my talents there in my home church. I led in a girlsโ club program; joined all the youth activities; sang in the choir and taught in a primary aged Sunday School department. I still love working with children but find energy levels lacking for that great responsibility.
I experienced salvation at the age of 9 years when I understood that my heart was โdirtyโ and Jesus needed to make it clean. And when I was 12 also understood the need to be baptised by water immersion.
A โStill. Small Voiceโ
Through the next โtumultuousโ years there were many โupsโ and โdownsโ of faith. But God was gracious to me. Throughout those teen and adolescent years it was His โstill, small voiceโ that guided me. I did not follow the temptation to try many of those things which would have taken me down a destructive path. I am thankful for His faithfulness.
A Snapshot of Family
After high school I attended community college and received a diploma in Home Economics. That led me to work for some time in the food industry. A one year Bible School course came next and there is where I met the man who would be my husband.. We married in 1973. God gave us 36 years together and 3 wonderful children. Each of them have chosen to live the Christian life also. God took my husband home to Heaven in January 2009, 10 years ago.
Cater experienced a massive heart attack and went to meet his Lord very quickly. I have thanked the Lord many times for allowing him to be one moment in this life and the next in Heaven with the Lord he loved so dearly. There was no suffering, only JOY!!!
Surely one of my greatest joys is the seven grandchildren that share in my life. They have brought me great pleasure is no greater pleasure as Iโve watched them develop into strong, individual people. I love each of them dearly and enjoy every minute we can be together. Each personality is unique and ready to make a difference in their world.
These moments of reflection on life have reminded also of the many good friends and acquaintances who have been a true blessing. Each has influenced and enriched my life in their own way. I would not be who I am today without their companionship and counsel.
I love every opportunity to spend time with these special people God has brought into my life. Some have shared through many years and now new ones found in recent days have begun the walk of friendship. And I anticipate the happy discoveries ahead
Time For Work!
I had a varied and fulfilling work life. There were positions as a secretary in educational, medical, and legal offices. My last position was in the role of Registrar/Retreat Coordinator/Hostess at a Christian Conference and Retreat Centre.
In 2012 health issues dictated that it was time to retire. My heart ached as I left behind the joys and challenges of that role. However it was time to move on to other things. Not sure of how my days would be filled without such an all embracing responsibility I soon found a place in the world of retail sales.
Selling AVON was the place for me. Meeting new friends and pleasing them with quality products fulfilled my need for community interaction. I thank God also for this opportunity.
And now God has led me to a new, exciting and enriching opportunity. My time is now spent behind the computer discovering and sharing.
I have become part of an amazing organization. Learning how to provide income through โLink Post Bloggingโ has opened adoor to a whole new world. This is a method of exploring and sharing opportunities found on the internet. Constructing a website filling it with opportunities leads those who visit to explore and share the possibilities.
I love what I am doing now and intend to learn all that is offered and then become an expert at sharing. You must look at what I have found and see how you can make it a part of your life also. COME AND JOIN THE FAMILY!!
